Jurist K T Thomas was honoured for Public Affairs from Kerala. Violinist N Rajam got the award in Art from Uttar Pradesh. P Narayanan was recognised for Literature and Education from Kerala. Former Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandhan received it posthumously in Public Affairs from Kerala.
Padma Bhushan Recipients
Thirteen individuals were conferred the Padma Bhushan. Playback singer Alka Yagnik was awarded for Art from Maharashtra. Former Uttarakhand Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari received it for Public Affairs from Uttarakhand. Medicine specialist Kallipatti Ramasamy Palaniswamy from Tamil Nadu was honoured. Actor Mammootty got the award in Art from Kerala. Dr Nori Dattatreyudu was recognised in Medicine from the United States. Piyush Pandey received it posthumously for Art from Maharashtra. S K M Maeilanandhan was honoured for Social Work from Tamil Nadu. Shatavadhani R Ganesh got it in Art from Karnataka. Former Jharkhand leader Shibu Soren received it posthumously in Public Affairs from Jharkhand. Banker Uday Kotak was awarded for Trade and Industry from Maharashtra. V K Malhotra got it posthumously in Public Affairs from Delhi. Vellappally Natesan was honoured for Public Affairs from Kerala. Tennis legend Vijay Amritraj received the award in Sports from the United States.
Padma Shri: Diverse Talents Honoured
The Padma Shri list features 113 awardees from fields like art, sports, medicine, social work, literature, science, and more. Standout names include Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma for Sports from Maharashtra, women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur Bhullar for Sports from Punjab, wicketkeeper Savita Punia for Sports from Haryana, and former cricketer Baldev Singh for Sports from Punjab.
